Aftercare

Welcome to the Laerskool Bergsig Aftercare!

AFTERCARE TIMES:

• The daily hours Monday to Thursday are: 13:30 to 17:30 PUNCTUALLY

• Friday: 13:00 to 17:30 PUNCTUALLY

• The aftercare is NOT open during public holidays or school holidays.

FEES FOR 2025:

• Fees for 2025 amount to R830.00 per learner per month which is payable over 11 months as well as an annual registration fee of R180.00 per learner.

• All fees must be paid at the office and registration form submitted before we can admit your child to the aftercare.

• Fees are strictly payable in advance on or before the 7th of each month. If a month's fees have not been paid, the pupil concerned WILL be refused the aftercare until the monthly fee has been paid. NO exception will be made.

• The rule will be STRICTLY applied so that the aftercare can remain financially viable.

• If any aftercare fees from a previous year have not been paid on date, the learner concerned will not be able to attend the aftercare the following year until the outstanding amount has been settled.

• A fine of R50 per learner will be charged for every 15 minutes you arrive after 17:30.

• Fines are payable in cash or card. Times will reflect in the log register.

• Daily fees amount to R80.00 per learner per day.

ATTENDANCE:

• If a learner does not attend the aftercare due to illness, holiday or any other reason, the full monthly fees will still be payable.

• If a learner is taken out of aftercare, the person responsible for the account must give one month’s written notice.

MEALS:

• Learners receive a sandwich, soft drink, and snack daily.

• Learners are allowed to visit the tuck shop after school.

HOMEWORK AND STUDY TIME:

• Learners do homework daily from 13:30 to 15:00. Note: Reading is not done at the aftercare due to too little time.

• Homework will be completed under strict supervision and a daily register will be kept of learners who are absent.

• Staff check that the homework done corresponds to the homework written down in the learner's diary. No responsibility is accepted for homework that is not checked off.

• All learners must be in possession of a homework book as well as a summary book for the examination time.

• Aftercare staff are there to ease your work as a parent with homework at home, BUT it remains the parent's responsibility to take care of the children's homework and to complete homework that is not completed at after school at home.

MEDICAL CARE:

• No medication will be administered to learners. Minor injuries will be treated by staff. In case of serious injuries the parents will be notified. If a parent cannot be reached, the learner will be accompanied to a medical doctor by the after-school staff.
